De Haan Studio is a teaching space dedicated to immersive ceramics workshops. We offer three and five-day intensive courses, suitable for various skill levels, from curious beginners to advanced artists looking to refine their technique. Studio founder Maria De Haan and a revolving group of international guest ceramicists teach the workshops.Workshops are focused on wheel work and, occasionally, hand-building. We also create bespoke workshops for small groups and host special taster days on our rooftop terrace.
Our workshops include tuition, materials, and the shipping of completed works. Participants will enjoy complimentary tea, coffee, and water throughout the session. Please note that the number of pieces crafted during each workshop is limited.
The studio is fully air-conditioned and conveniently located within walking distance of hotels and restaurants.

5 DAY WORKSHOP INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED
This course is for those who already have experience and would like to grow their confidence and work with larger amounts of clay. We will give demonstrations and one on one guidance on tackling different forms.
3 DAY WORKSHOP / BEGINNERS
This course is for those who are new to the wheel and would love an intense learning experience.We will teach you how to centre the clay and how to make cylindrical forms, vases, cups and open bowl forms.Day 1 and 2 will be throwing and day 3 trimming the pieces.
5 DAY WORKSHOP INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED
This course is for those who already have experience and would like to grow their confidence and work with larger amounts of clay.We will give demonstrations and one on one guidance on tackling different forms.
